Alcatel-Lucent Signs Separate Deals with China Mobile, China Unicom

According to a Reuters report, French Alcatel-Lucent recently signed a US$340 million agreement with China Mobile through its Chinese unit Alcatel Shanghai Bell. Pursuant to the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent will supply China Mobile with mobile network solutions encompassing GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as related radio and core network equipment.

Meanwhile, Alcatel-Lucent signed a separate contract worth US$120 million with China Unicom, so as to support China Unicom's various network projects to be conducted in 2007. These projects include a CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev. A network upgrade project in Macau and further CDMA network expansion in China.
